A fun look behind the scenes at 2014 weddings

Looking back at 2014, I can truly say it was a fantastic year! It was by far the best, busiest and most challenging year I've had since starting my wedding photography business. I photographed 20+ weddings, 16 engagement session, 3 styled shoots, 1 fashion collection lookbook and shot an entire wedding book coming out in January of 2016. Wow!! I wanted to share a few fun and often embarrassing photos of myself from behind-the-scenes. I always start out each day trying to look my best but it never fails that I look like I've been through the ringer by the time I get home and pour myself on my couch. I also realized a few things about myself; 1 - I rotate between 3-4 outfits for my entire wedding season. It's so hard to find an outfit that works (let alone has pockets!) so if I look the same in each of these photos, well, it's because I do. 2 - I hate the back of my head. From putting my hair up and down in ponytails all day long I have some crazy waves in the back of my head. I straighten my naturally curly hair everyday so if you are anything like me, you know that waves in the back of my head are the bane of my existence!! - I absolutely LOVE my job and my wonderful clients. Those smiles, laughs and sometime tears (especially during the ceremony) are real. I am so grateful and blessed to be able to do what I love as a career and I couldn't have done it without any of you. I want to also take a moment to thank all my wonderful second shooters and amazing assistants who helped me throughout my 2014 wedding season and captured these funny moments. Thank you Mekina, Jessa, Mikkel, Amy, Eileen, Leandra, Tamara, Pamela, Julieanne, Elena, Cassi, Jenny, Ilene, Jennifer and Falcon - you ladies are the best! xo, Jainé

I love this photo of me helping to carry and protect adrienne's gorgeous wedding dress! We were all laughing so hard!

Helping Ashley prepare for her first look with Jon (left). Giving light direction during their bride and groom portrait session.

So, I'm short (5'4") and if you're tall, I'll be standing on my trusty stool for your photos :)

Annie hand painted this amazing lobster photobooth prop and I couldn't resist having a bit of fun during cocktail hour (left).
I love active bridal party shots with movement.

I like to introduce myself to the groomsmen if we haven't had a chance to meet during prep photos. It's nice to meet you!

Jessa testing her reception lighting and catching me posing for the camera. Vogue!

The day called for rain and we came prepared. Thank you to Tamara for being my umbrella women and
501 Union for having a very large awning to cover my lovely bride and her sisters!

Showing Claire how to hold her veil in the vineyard so it doesn't get dirty. (left) Dan's face says that I'm probably asking him to put their heads together and kiss :)

When my couples cry and laugh, I laugh and cry with them! Love Terence's joyous smile!!

Positioning the bride, bridesmaids with the cutest flower girl ever for their formal shots! (left) Showing Sophie and Hunter how I want them to walk towards me.
Looks silly in real life but GREAT on camera. I swear!

I think I made some funny joke here. I'm going to go with that!

Setting up Katherine and John's bridal party shot in Madison Square Park. I like to incorporate the environment into the photos.

Meeting Hunter for the first time. He gave me the biggest hug ever! (left) Asking Hunter to twirl and kiss Sophie by the docks. It was so romantic!

Receptions are so much fun but incredibly LOUD. A speaker hurt my ear two years ago and I learned my lesson hard way :( So, now I wear earplugs. I *may* look like Frankenstein at your reception but I can still hear you!

Getting a close up of Dana and Jonathan at the Metropolitan Building.

Can we fit everyone in this bridal party photo at the Brooklyn Winery? I think so! (left) The light in the mirror room at the Metropolitan Building was incredible.

I could photograph these two all day long!

In the end, it's all about my couples and creating beautiful photos for them to cherish forever. Hunter's face is priceless after seeing a
sneak peek of a few of their wedding photos. This is pure happiness for me!
