This is my favorite week of the year because not only is my wedding anniversary (we're celebrating FOUR wonderful years of marriage!) it's also my birthday. What could be better than that? I couldn't imagine my life without my husband and so happy he's by my side. I always tell my couples that being married is amazing and they are going to love it! My niece Emma is walking, talking and even says my name (sorta). She's growing up so fast and I'm excited to spend the holidays with her!
On the business side of things, each year I set goals for myself and I love looking back to see what I've accomplished and what I still need to work on. I was thrilled to photograph weddings at some of my favorite nyc venues including The Metropolitan Building, The River Cafe, The Green Building and 501 Union. I also was able to return to a few favorites places including The Montauk Yacht Club, Prospect Park Boathouse and The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers. Oh, and I'm assisting in my first destination wedding in Puerto Rico - Hooray!
One of my major goals, since I started my wedding photography business, was to be published in Martha Stewart Weddings. I was beyond honored to have one of my favorite weddings featured on their website. Seriously, it's a dream come true! I also mentioned earlier in the year that I was lucky enough to photograph a book with Vané of Brooklyn Bride and Minhee of Paper + Cup. We've been working on that for the last six months and we couldn't be more proud of what we created together. I can't wait for you to see and I'll be sure to keep you posted once it's available for pre-orders!!
I'm looking forward to my last few weddings of the season (yay!) and then enjoying the holidays relaxing and recharging with my friends and family. If you're a facebook fan, it's becoming harder and harder for you to see my posts so be sure to visit my Instagram feed to see what I'm currently up too. You can follow @brklynview and be sure to say hello! Stay tuned for lots of pretty weddings and beautiful engagement sessions coming soon. xo, Jainé
