:: for the groom :: what to wear on your engagement session

Today's for the groom is all about the men! Last week, I posted some helpful tips for couples wondering what to wear for their engagement sessions. I created an inspiration board for the ladies and thought I'd help the men get ready for their close up as well. Here we go...

Some tips: Wear clothes and shoes that are flattering and comfortable but remember to dress it up a bit. A crisp clean shirt with a bow tie will really bring some charm to your photos. Don't like ties? That's ok maybe just a new shirt to make you feel special. Don't forget to accessorize! You might think accessories are just for the ladies but guys have a lot of great choices too. Your belt, watch, glasses and shoes are great ways to tie your outfit together. Remember to keep colors and patterns in the same tones and hues as your wife-to-be's outfit. Being coordinated but not "matchy-matchy" (you're not twins!) is helpful to set the tone of your photos. 

Causal vs. Dressy... it's up you and your location! Are you going to be on the beach or in the city? Are you having a formal wedding but want to be more relaxed in your session? These are all things that should be discussed with your photographer prior to your session. Come up with a plan, figure out your outfits and remember to just have fun!
